Have Video Camera, will travel?
Being a video producer, I almost always take my video camera with me everywhere.. so it came as a surprise to a few friends that I did NOT take it with me on a recent hike to Feather Falls. Just a small digital camera.
Not that I didn't want to... I just didn't want to have the added weight, which, for me, has never been a problem.
hum... wonder if I'm getting old in my old age.
I recall a time I hiked into the back-woods of Yosemite on a 2-day search-and-rescue with the local sheriff's posse, carrying my HUGE pro-news Beta cam, as well as recorder deck, mics, AND a heavy aluminum Bogen tripod. And yes.. we DID get our man, and yes, I DID get awesome exclusive footage.
This trip to Feather Falls wasn't as inspiring, and I was having trouble breathing, and my feet didn't seem to want to cooperate.
Hum. I have to find those photos form that Yosemite search-n-rescue, looks like I'm getting into one of those Glory Days moments. These photos attached are form my recent Feather Falls hike.

Wow! Has it been 7 Months!

A lot has happened in my life since last October: Good, Bad and Ugly. I'll leave the details out, just wanted to add this thought... I'm glad I am a member of the Soroptimists because their energy helped me through some really tough times recently.
To those who knew: I thank you all. To those who didn't: though many of my fellow SI members had no idea what was happening in my world, I was inspired and rejuvenated by their positive affirmations.
I feel like I'm back to my Magical Self again.

It is certainly nice to see the Soroptimist International of Chico now has a blog... we are an exceptional bunch of ladies that know how to savor tradition and welcome new technology. Welcome to the Now, ladies, you've made it look so easy! I'm thrilled to count myself a member of your group. - Jennifer
